    generic usb camera worked and then stopped working

    Hi all, sorry in advanced but I will try and give as much details as possible.

    I brought an ebay special enderscope usb camera which worked great for 4 days.

    on the 5th day it stopped.

    What generally happens is I plug it in, the led's light up, windows says unknown device and that is it.

    If i take it out and try a different port then it does not even show up.

    When it did work it came up as generic usb 2.0 camera

    I can not find this driver file anywhere on the interenet so I can just point to it on device manager.

    I am getting - Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)

    I installed all updates, no go, did a roll back to a week before, no go, re-installed all updates - still no go

    After looking around I've some info that may or may not help.

    Hardware ID - USB/UNKOWN
    Base cont. ID - {02713ff7-fae4-11e2-a80d-e89a8fc67103}
    Cont. ID - {02713ff7-fae4-11e2-a80d-e89a8fc67103}

    Driver version - 6.1.7601.17586

    I did try it in a windows 8 machine but nothing happened.

    Basic 1st question really is, is the camera dead?

    IF not, what can I do?

    Thanks anyone in advanced, I'll not be around again until this time tomorrow so please bare with for replies.

    Thanks again

    Hi Maxie, yes I did find that thread before but it did not offer any help in my situation.

    Sometimes it will show in device manager but other times it will not, so if this faulty hardware?

    Hi there Could be faulty no real way to tell mate . I suppose you could ask for a Replacement if you dont have it that long .. Or maybe it did not cost that much and not worth the bother
