Mouse and Keyboard stop working during games.

Hi, this is my first thread and i'm a bit inexperienced with computers but bear with me here. Ok so yesterday whilst i was playing a game my keyboard and mouse stopped working. The keyboards lights started flashing and the mouse just stopped responding (even though the mouse light was still on). I thought this was temporary so i shut down my computer and turned it on again. The first 30 mins or so were fine but then the same thing happened. So i disconnected their usb ports and connected them again...it didn't work. So the only solution seems to be is reseting the PC. And thats only temporary. I need an urgent solution please. Also this doesn't happen on boot, it only happens when i'm playing a game or have several programs open or drawing something on paint.

My keyboard is : Microsoft Sidewinder X4
    Mouse: Logitech Gaming mouse G400
    CPU: Intel I7 2600K

Any help is appreciated. Thank you in advance.

UPDATE: ok so i took out the usb and put it in another port and it worked. It probably has something to do with the mouse because it keeps disconecting and connecting again

If it works in another USB port I don't think it's the mouse could be a mouse the only works with 2.0 and not 3.0 USB port someone will hopefully clarify what I have said maybe

Just re read your post if you have put it into a new/ different port and it works but disconnects still then yeah could be the mouse but you said the keyboard as well which I think your extremely unlucky if that's the case
