CD ROM Stops Working, SM Bus Driver Missing - Are they connected?

    Hi There,

My CD ROM has stopped working. Is it something to do with a missing SM Bus Driver? Can someone help me? I have a Toshiba Satellite series C665 machine with Windows 7 Home Premium 32 Bit in it.

How to get my CD ROM to work?

    Thanks in advance

    Murali

Hi Murali Where do the errors show in the Device Manager ? Is the Sm Bus Controller missing from USB devices or other Devices ?

Reinstall the Intel motherboard chipset drivers, from Toshiba and see if that fixes both problems.

Hi Maxie....I installed the Intel Chipset from the Toshiba site and the SM Bus Controller issue stands resolved....thanks a ton, buddy. But, my DVD-ROM still does not seem to work. When I put the DVD in, it rotates...but does not come alive....the DVD ROM is visible on My Computer but the damn thing does not seem to play the DVD....any suggestions.....as always, thanks ahead
