    New Graphic Card!HELP!!!

I have a little bit older graphic card,Leadtek PX8600GTS so if anyone could suggest me which new Graphic card should I buy and when should I buy it.I am from Croatia so if you could recommend me a GC and I will check it out.i wanna buy a GC that is a best combination of price and performance.I am troubling for a long time about that,so i would be gratefull if someone could help me.i suppose that the best graphic card to buy is the one that has DX11...and btw it does not have to be in sale yet

what games do you play? what resolution is your monitor? and how much money do you want to spend?

if you want to go down the amd/ati road, have a look at either an ati hd4850 or hd4890 - they should be cheaper now that the hd5870 is out.

i'm sure other members can recommend a well-priced hi-performance nvidia card if we wait a bit...

my monitor is 17 inch, highest resolution is 1280x1024.I play all new games but most of them are FPS or GTA IV style.I am willing to pay about 400$ but it can go a little bit over or below the limit

if you play in 1280x1024, then the hd4850 is a lovely little card for little money - i don't know what the prices are like in croatia. obviously a 4890 is faster and more expensive.

i used to have a 4850 and loved it to bits, but had to upgrade when i went from my 1280 monitor to a new 1920 widescreen.

both of the above cards will run fine on your 550w psu. i have an antec 550w, and it has no trouble.

but wait a bit, and see what other forum members have to say...

a very nice fast card which will rip through your games at max settings with super speed, especially at 1280x1024

    you'll like it!

but don't just listen to me, i'm surprised nobody is here from the green team...

yes, it's a pci-e card, and it's not too big.

it does need two 6pin power connectors - so make sure your psu has these - if not, you can get adapters to fit onto spare molex power cables.

the picture isn't exactly your card, but one very similar...

    molex connectors:
