    1920 x 1080 vs 1900 x 1200 lcd

I am looking for a new 24" lcd monitor. I never watch DVD or Blu Ray on my computer.

Is there any advantages to having the 1920x1080 over the 1900x1200 standard for computing and photography work?

I currently use 1900x1200 and have been very satisfied with it so far.

    Many thanks,

Heh in many cases there is a MAJOR advantage to monitors that do 1920x1200 instead of 1920x1080

The 1080 "monitors" are actually using LCD TV panels . Much lower quality, color acuracy, etc (generally matched by much lower prices).

So I'd stick to a decent 1920x1200 monitor. One that was for sure made to work for computer imaging and has the full color range LCD panels.

I'd also recommend 1920x1200. Like fseal said, the 1920x1080 versions are cheaper...but you get what you pay for. With computers, the more resolution the better.

I have a 1920x1200 screen and I would also recommend it. For the most part, 1920x1200 is a computer resolution, while 1920x1080 is a TV resolution.
