Windows 7 Professional 64 bit

Hello and welcome to the forums.

It's got to be a driver issue, I would head to the HP website and download all the drivers you can for your model, you will need to use another PC for this if you can't access the internet from the laptop and chuck them onto a CD assuming your DVD drive works in the laptop.

Yeah, just copy the files you download straight into a cd as they are and then chuck them on your desktop on the laptop and run them from there.

Windows 10 Pro/ Windows 10 Pro Insider

Reaper, I believe the chipset driver carries most of the USB 2.0 drivers. If you have USB 3.0, they will have special drivers. Be sure to get your lan drivers also, so you can get internet connection.
