    Connecting to Projecto, Shutdown pc


    Hi, I had a minipc where it works very well when it is connected to a desktop monitor.
    But if I connect directly the projector to the on-board vga port (takeout the vga connector of the monitor), cpu shutdown after a couple of minutes.
    And also noticed that keyboard is not functioning well, delayed and some keys wont work. This problem don't exist if monitor is used.
    I'm out of ideas what caused the problem. In guessing maybe the culprit it's the psu or the mobo.

    seems you might have it right. usually if connecting to a larger monitor causes a slowdown and or power down (yes I know it's a projector) there is usually a PSU issue with the psu usually being the weakest link in the system and usually if OEM the most anemic. I am assuming since its a mini it is using the onboard graphics adapter? If you have access to another projector or larger than life monitor (Think 50" TV) and is still happening I would hazard to say that mini would not be a good option for projecting. External power supply? 90watt or so? Brand would be helpful as would model number so we can see what it's specs should be. you might be able to use a universal power adapter of 120watt or so to see if that allows the gpu enough power without starving the cpu.

    Thanks a lot. That's what I had my mind also. Coz this is a six door classroom and don't have problems with the others except the rest using a full desktop.
