CD/DVD-Drive disappears mysteriously from My Computer

I don't know if this is a virus or what? My Kaspersky hasn't caught anything weird that I should be concern about.
But out of nowhere I wanted to re-install CS3 because it crashed for some reason and when I inserted the disc, there was no sign of the drive in my computer.

Whenever I reboot, I could see the drive again on my computer then disappears when I insert any disc into the drive.

I tried System Restore and it did nothing..

    Anybody ran into this issue?

    Hey aem,

What exactly do you want me to look for in the Event Viewer?
I don't usually look at the Event Viewer.

Is CS3 a program? Have u tried removing it and see if you still get this error?

Has nothing to do with CS3.

CS3 is Creative Suite 3 (Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, etc...)

I tired inserting different CD/DVD's into the drive and it disappears again after i insert them.

I gave up and re-formatted, seems like the easy way out every single time.
