Hope someone can help me with "Other Devices" in Device Manager

Did a clean install yesterday on a hard drive that was empty.

Today, I noticed 3 items as problematic in Device Manager.

    * Ethernet Controller (windows can't find driver)

    * SM Bus Controller (no driver)

    * Universal Serial Bus Controller (no driver)

Never saw this on any of my several computers and I have no do idea what it is all about.

    Anyone have ideas?

    Thanks

Hi there .. You need a Chipset Driver . Going by your System Specs the Drivers can be found in the Link below

    Thanks, maxie

I realized that I had forgotten to install the motherboard drivers.

I attempted this and now the mouse pointer is frozen in the middle of the screen. Cannot stop it no matter what I do.

I have dragged my XP machine out of storage and I'll use that instead. At least it works.

    Many thanks.

maxie, yes I was able to get the mouse working late last night.

So, now I am back to my original question. If course, the "Solved" check mark doesn't help. I may need to start a new post.

Oops the check mark may be gone.

I have no idea what hardware they are talking about. Windows tries to find drivers for all three of them and can't find any.

I built this computer in late April 2013 and hooked it to my modem/router and these items were not a problem then.

Meanwhile, instead of being wired to the modem/router, I had to use a wireless device. I can live with that but it would be nice to have the computer work the way it's supposed to.

Well, I reinstalled the mother board drivers again last night and the three items still appear.

Let me try later today and I'll get back to you. No time right now.

    Thanks
