    Wireless Card Upgrade

    Hi

I'd like to find out if it's possible to upgrade my wireless card on my Toshiba p200-1ee notebook from a/g etc to an n rated card. I know the n cards have 3 pins but pins 1/2 is all I would need to use is the correct?

At the moment I have a NEOTECHS usb n dongle but would like to gain back the usb port.

    Any advice would be appreciated

Scotty mate providing the new adaptor will fit see this for getting the old one out and the new in but I suppose it is just as well to check first to see if the change is possible. Where from I am nor sure mate maybe the maker of the adaptor you are proposing to use.

Taking apart Toshiba laptops and notebooks. DIY guides. Disassembly instructions.

Removing keyboard and speaker cover from Toshiba Satellite P205 notebook see up to and then point 12. Now just be aware that to do this you need to be VERY careful with the small ribbon cables and please read the first ref thoroughly before starting there is a definite right and wrong way to remove and insert said cables because of those tiny cable retainers that are hard to see and hold out when replacing them.

A TIP do this on a large spread out white (preferably) bath towel as dropping the small screws onto a hard surface nearly alway results in them skidding off the hard surface of say a table and then lost forever, the towel stops this happening in 999 out of a 1000 drops.

The alternative mate is a USB hub.

Hi mate thanks for the advice once again. I will no have a look and see what needs doing. What I have done atm is re-installed the said usb dongle and it seems to be working a lot better now than it did the 1st time I installed it. I am getting a total increase in BB speed with it now so if it keeps up like this I will keep it set as such.

    Hope you're well mate?
