    E-Sata

I have an external HDD(Verbatim 1tb) and when i am trying to connect it through E-sata, windows does not recognise it.. When i am using it with USB all its ok.. I have to mention that the Drive was working perfectly when I had XP.. My motherboard is an Asus P5B

    Thanks in advance

You might want to check on the Asus site for Win7 drivers for the e-sata port. Or on the forum there for others with that problem.

I've had this problem on my Asus M3A32-MVP-Deluxe motherboard when usng the CoolerMaster X-Craft Lite 350 External Chassis with a 1.5TB Seagate hard disk.

One workaround I've been using is to open Device Manager (Right-Click "Computer", select "Properties", then "Device Manager"), and then scan for hardware changes (basically, have Windows detect new hardware).

It's not ideal, but it may work for you too until such time as Asus can update their Windows 7 drivers to again allow hot-plug of e-Sata devices.
