Microsoft Comfort Keyboard 2000 stuck to one usb port

    hi
my keyboard is stuck to only one usb port. i.e. if i install it in any other port .. the windows hard ware detection comes and it says installing driver for my keyboard then it says "no driver found"..

it only works if i attach it to that port .
sometimes some keys like o ; 6 don't work .. the solution is to restart the PC or unplug and replug it to computer .

i have unplugged the keyboard uninstalled the microsoft keyboard software then rebooted then plugged the keyboard on another port it says installing drivers then it says no drivers found. .. however on attaching it to the port on which i had first attached this keyboard it works.

all the usb ports are ok . and working with microsoft mouse and usb flah drive . i have tested them.
there are 4 usb connectors on the rear and 2 on front . the keyboard is only working on one of the rear connector .. its not working on any of the other rear or front connectors.

the keyboard has no issues on another pc . i have tested it there for a week and had not found any issue . that system was old p4 with xp installed.

how to solve this issue ?
    i.e. some keys sometimes just don't work/
and cant attach the keyboard on another usb port.

Hopefully a silly question but needs to be asked, does your computer have an internet connection when searching for the driver?

What is the make and model of your MOBO? Some MOBOs require one to use a specific USB port to plug keyboards into.

I looked up what I hope is the correct manual for your computer. Apparently, there is no USB port designated for keyboards so scratch that theory. However, various ports can be disabled and enabled from within the BIOS. Have you used something other than the keyboard to see if the all the rear USB ports are working? Something as simple as a USB thumb drive will work for testing.
