When I right click on a file, image etc. using "save as" in to a USB drive file does any of that file, image etc. go to my hard drive and if so does it stay there and where would I see it?

No, but the page you saved it from will be in saved in your browser history and if there was an icon image of the file on the web page, the icon may be cached on your drive.
