Lag issues with Hp x4000 wireless mouse

    Hi all,

Bought a new mouse recently - (HP x4000), the old one was on it's last legs (or wheel). Initially it was fine, but then I started getting really bad lag/sticking issues (apols as I hope this is the right terminology) when playing Football Manager 2007.

It's not exactly a demanding game, though I note in order to play it I had to play it via a previous Windows setting (right clicked on icon, selected 'Properties' and selected and earlier edition of Windows).

I thought perhaps this was the reason, however when browsing on the net or in general elsewhere I've noticed the same thing. The pointer is stuck, lags and is unresponsive. It seems to have periods where it acts as normal and then plays up, so it's not constantly acting up (which is the same pattern of behaviour in Football Manager).

I did have a logitech mouse and removed the software support for this. It's a real hunch but it seems that there's a cycle of it playing up and the working fine, perhaps there's a clash somewhere?

If anyone can help I'll be grateful, otherwise I'll have to buy a cheap mouse.

    have you checked device manager

Control Panel\System and Security\System\device manager and then check mice and other pointing devices. try updating the drivers.
