AMD Phenom II X4 965 CPU: update on fallen off pin (pic inside) help!

Recently I posted a thread about a pin that fell of my CPU. Basically I made the dumb decision to clean the CPU fan while incredibly stressed, so I wasn't as cautious as usual. Eventually I accidentally caused damage to the CPU pins and one even fell off. This pic shows where it fell off

Somehow, I got extremely lucky and the CPU ended up working even after the pin fell off. The only problem is that games run slowly. So I emailed AMD asking what the pin did but they said there was a non-disclosure agreement preventing them telling me what the function of the pin was.

Can you guys help me out? Is it possible that this pin falling off is what's causing the slow performance in games or is there another problem I'm missing? I put fresh thermal paste on the CPU and that didn't seem to help at all. I'd get a replacement CPU but I'm don't have that kind of money to spend right now, all I need is answers to my questions.

I'm sure the pin has a reason for being there.

Although, I personally don't know what is controls.

These CPUs in used condition sell for about $85.00

I know you said, you can't afford to replace it.

But, if there is a system slowdown due to the missing pin, I don't see you having any other choice.
