hard drive not recognized - you are screwed

After spending way too long reading the same solutions no one has fixed this problem.
My conclusions are you have a usb problem that corrupts the driver.
first external usb connected harddrive failed at 10 months
second hard drive failed at 5 weeks
    3rd harddrive one week
    all were brand new
    all were different brands
I would be a fool to plug in another hard external harddrive to my computer

The obvious solution is buy another motherboard

    Hi truenorth, Welcome to SF.

Firstly, I did not understand your issue.

Then don't be a fool and plug in another external harddrive.

Are you just trolling or really asking for help?
If you do need help, ask a question so folks here understand, and might be able to help you.
