Layout: US has a corrupt display
What other layout have you installed?

    US (international) is fine?

It seems to be popping up with either keyboard option.

EDIT: I just tried an English Australian one, and it's still coming up with the same character.

So it 's not keyboard layout issue!
    I think it's a corrupted font(?)
Once again... it a display problem.

Any ideas on how I can get a non-corrupted font?

Did you add themes to make desktop and win7 look different? Save your current theme so you can always go back to current theme.

Set win7 theme to win7 standandard aero theme. No problems then?
In MS WORD use font "Sogeo UI" and type the problem character. It is displayed correctly?

I had a personalized theme, but the only thing that I've changed is wallpapers. I've tried changing the theme but the same problem is still there.

I also tried typing that problem character into MS Word but it appears normally, as a \.

I'm not sure if this affects it at all, but I believe this laptop was purchased from a Korean refurbishment, since my business owners are Korean and have worked with them prior so it could be some sort of issue with the Korean language pack? Just guessing.

Sure you typed "Sogeo UI" text in WORD?
In regedit browse to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop\WindowMetrics
Post screenshot. I'm interested in right part of screenshot. Let me see the "value" column. Make it as large as possible.

You mean Korean win7 has been installed and you installed english language pack?

I'm not sure if it was the Korean Windows 7... I'm just hazarding a guess. Is there a way I can find that out?

Also I typed in Sogeo UI and it said no font found, but the one I used was Segoe UI, which I assumed was the same thing?

I'm attaching a screen shot as requested. I also thought you may find it interesting that the first time I tried to search exactly what you gave me, and when I pasted it into regedit it gave me the exact same damn character. I'm posting a screenshot of that as well.

Display the column "value" as large as possible. Want to see more data!

Also double click menufont, iconfont, messagefont etc. You see Segeo UI now?
