connecting bluetooth speakers to laptop (halfway there)

So i managed to get my bluetooth speakers and laptop paired, but the sound is still coming through the laptop speakers, i went into the audio area and the only option to playback is the laptop speakers.

The bluetooth speakers show up in devices, and it seems to know that they are speakers, but how do i make it show up in the audio area so i can choose to use them instead of laptop speakers?

ive spent hours on google trying and trying different things to get it working, from what i can tell it has something to do with ad2p i dont really know what that is, some kind of driver that isnt a part of windows 7, i cant seem to find it though, all links are dead ends. but i am finding a lot of other people with this problem! including plenty of old and unanswered threads on this site!

anyone know where i can get a AD2P driver for my samsung series 5 laptop?

What is listed in device manager under Bluetooth?

We can probably find it using the hardware ID's as shown in this tutorial,

    Hardware Identification

Your exact model number of laptop will help too.

Are you sure that's the hardware ID, there's usually a few numbers in it.

There is only one Bluetooth driver on the Samsung site,

i tried the driver just now and whn it was installing it had a list of things it was ticking as it installed, and one of them said AD2P sink, but i am still having the same problem so maybe that isnt the issue. i cant believe it can be so hard. i got it paired and playing with my ipad in 20 seconds. i just dont understand why the laptop can see it, but wont use it. its incredibly frustrating and i dont know what else to try!!

Just out of curiosity, have you tried a reboot?

After a reboot i seem to be in a worse state. I unpaired the device, hoping that repairing it might help, the restarted, after the restart when i go to add the device it shows up like normal but when i click it and tell it to pair it just says "connecting to device" for like 10 mins then says failed. I hate everything....

Restarted the computer and the hifi, just in case. Got it connected and paired again, this time its actually showing SOMETHING in the sound devices but its showing as bluetooth headphones which they certainly are not. Its also saying tehyre disconnected. I right click and choose connect but nothing happens.

Starting to think those headphones showing up in sound devices have nothing to do with the speakers. Ive read so many other threads with this problem, the only ones that ever get solved seem to have been driver related, but what else can i do regarding drivers aside from what i have done already?
