    Radio frequencies?

Is it possible to pick up radio frequencies and interference on computers? I opened my Windows Media Player today and heard, very quietly, a talk radio show and was flabbergasted. It has never, ever, ever happened before. I don't listen to internet radio so I don't know what it could be. Completely dumbfounded over here.

Yes, it is possible. Computers are an FCC Class 15, sub-part B product, which means that while they may not cause interference in other products, they must accept any interference caused by something else. That's why your PC can pick up talk radio. You were either picking up a local radio station, or something nearby was radiating that signal.

That's it in layman's terms. You can look up the officialese in your owner's manual if you like.

Thanks for the reply, was seriously wondering what was going on. When it happened I rebooted and it went away. Very dark, gloomy, rainy day around here, bet that caused it. My PC didn't come w/ a manual, it's a crappy emachine. Thanks again.
