built in webcam for ACER ASPIRE 5334 not working recognised

I have purchased a second hand ACER ASPIRE 5334 from a friend. He wiped the drive and re-installed Windows 7 and so up and running.

The only problem I have is that the computer seems not to recognise it has its own Webcam and so it doesn't work.

I thought it might be a driver missing so I tried to download the driver from both the driver disk that come with it and the Acer website, they both told me the webcam couldn't be found. It is there as I can see it. I looked in the devices manager and the computer does not seem to recognise it has a camera.

The computer did some windows updating, in fact 93 updates and then I looked again in devices and there was a webcam but still would not work. The next day I thought I would download the webcam driver from the disk and it still said there was no webcam, I looked again indevices and it was gone

    Any ideas please

shutdown the pc completely then on reboot hit he f2 key to get into it. and it should look something like below. if your confused by it take pictures of what it looks like in each tab at the top and then we can tell you want to enable but it will most likely say integrated peripherals then under that you need to enable camera, and make sure you save your settings when you decide to exit.

Unfortunately the computer was asking for a pass word to enter setup and I don't have it so I am going to admit defeat and hand it over for someone to do for me.

Thank you for the advice you gave me and I'll bet we could have cracked it if I could have got in to setup.
    Regards

ah that sucks as the only way to remove that password is to remove the cmos battery and to do that you have to open it up. id ask who you got it from if they know it. although according to this >http://www.fixya.com/support/t124249...er_aspire_5334 you can just take off the access panel and its there if this is true then you can remove it for a minute then put it back the system will go back to defaults without a password. take a pic if your unsure what it is, that pic is too small for me to see. before you do any of this take the battery out of the machine an don't have it the ac.

I am taking the computer back to my friend as he is hoping to sort it for me (he works in IT), but an interesting thing happened. Today I just thought I would check devices and there it was, "the webcam" as large as life. I thought I was on to a good thing and tried the driver again but nothing had changed, it still could not find the webcam. I wonder why the webcam has suddenly appeared in devices??
