File transfers to external drives wont complete

When trying to move large files (under 2gb, im well aware of NTFS/FAT32) the file will transfer up to 99% and then will hang of upwards of 3-5mins before sometimes completing and just flat out wont transfer multiple large files at all, will hang after the first file gets to the same condition as before. I can still transfer from internal to internal and even from external to internal works fine, just no luck internal to external. I have tried every usb port on the front and back panels and have no variation.

I have tried a lot of different things, latest being a complete full reformatting of my OS drive and complete reinstallation (win7 pro x64). Have run all latest updates and made sure that all drivers/BIOS/firmwares are all the latest and current but am still having the exact same issue as the last OS install. Have tried with multiple external drives and usb drives, full formats of all and still so change.

I am starting to worry that it is a motherboard issue which really would suck as the latest AMD boards are not on sale yet.

Have spent many hours now combing the forums for suggestions and cannot find anything that helps.

Thank you all in advance for your opinions and suggests.

Thaddeus I take it you are using the 3.0 USB ports mate? Plus I am assuming you have installed the drivers from Gigabyte and not just the Windows check as I do not rely on that at all.

Next to check I would take a stab at checking the drive the data is going to. It might ban idea to check these two Seagates you have personally I do not like very large drives as when they crash so does a lot of data and they seem to be a prominent cause of problems in this forum

Before that if you haven't already done them try these an delete any crap on the machine.

    Thanks for the quick reply,

I have tried all that and then same, I am using all usb 1.1/2.0/3.0 ports, no issues found with disc check, and yes I have all the latest drivers from the gigabyte website and have insure that they match my motherboard exactly.

I am running SpyBot 2 full professional edition. I have tried completely uninstalling it and restarting then trying the transfer and still no luck.

    What should I try next?

    Thanks again

    Solved

UPDATE: So after much testing and frustration, I have done another complete format and reinstall in win7 and have figured out that the issue has been caused by the USB drivers (Etron USB3.0 - 1.1.0.115 from gigabyte website)

When it is installed, the issue arises, uninstall it and its very slow (usb 1.1 speeds) but it works.

After some searching, I found on the Etron website the latest drivers (1.1.0.118), installed and its back to working full speed and no hang issues.

Thanks for ignoring me and only offering monosyllabic replies.

Mate nobody has been ignoring you - I for example have had to have a few days away from the machines and did not know what was going on. I don't think my replies were quite as you say and was going to suggest moving into hard ware issues as it happens and I don't think your response is called for but that is your choice.
This is a great forum and probably the best you can be on and I am sorry you feel the way you do but once again you have the right to your opinions however unfounded they are. I just explained my reasons and you have to remember that we deal with a lot of other problems and one cannot always be on line and ready to go.
