AMD Athlon AD750KWOHJBOX FM2 type Socket compatability

I've been looking at getting an AMD Athlon AD750KWOHJBOX to start upgrading my Compaq Pressario PC to a gaming PC. I dont know if the Pegatron Corperation NARRA5 motherboard from mid 2010 is compatable with the FM2 type socket on the prossesor. if anyone knows please help. Thanks :)

I had to Google that product number to find it's a AMD Athlon X4 750K socket FM1. This mean you board must have a FM1 socket.

It is not compatible with your AM2 socket.

You can plug in your specs in the AMD page. AMD Processors for Desktops: AMD Phenom?, AMD Athlon? FX, AMD Athlon? X2 Dual-Core, AMD Athlon?, and AMD Sempron? Processor=

I was thinking all the AM socket CPU were interchangeable, but I can't find it
    documented anywhere.
Check your BIOS specs for CPU support too.

I am wrong, it's the memory controller that is different.

This would be the best suggestion if the board is AM2+ It will and can use a AM3 chip

AM2 is the socket before you might be able to find the first Phenom chips that might be compatible
here on ebay a big list and the Phenom would be the best choice am2 processor | eBay

Ok i had to do some research if you are running a Sempron 140 you are running AM3

Where in the heck did you guys get AM2 and FM1 ?????

Anyway you want a good CPU that will work get a Phenom 965BE that should be plenty and add better ram i am assuming you are capped at 1066 or 1333 mhz so i would buy at least 8 gb DDR2orDDR3 if supported and a good Video card and change the PSU just saying

That will work but a real weak CPU a member had that CPU i gave him a phenom 925 2.8Ghz and it blows that one out of the water go with the 965BE @ 3.4 Ghz
