    USB ports not reading

I'm having a problem with my laptop. It started Monday night. The USB ports no longer read anything I plug into them, although they still are giving off power and upon connecting, the "connected" sound goes off. I have tried going into Device Manager and uninstalling the USB drivers, restarting, then allowing Windows to reinstall the drivers, to no avail. Any help?

Hello RL4L mate I never use the Windows feature for drivers always the manufacturers site this is the one for yours Drivers & Downloads | Dell US

I think it is the chipset one you need and it wouldn't hurt to do the Modem/ communications one too.
