Getting rid of pen ripple effect
Hi
First off let me say that I hope I'm putting this massage in the right place on this forum. Apologies if not.
I felt that some people may be interested in what I found on the Wacom site regarding the ripple effect after I upgrade from 32-bit win 7 to 64-bit. Can't find the page now but when I find such useful info I generally write a text file for my own use and keep it on a partition specifically for my source files collected over the years. I copy it here for the use of anyone who has a desire to get rid of the ripple effect. The procedure is very simple and done in a matter of seconds. Basically you do NOT have to go through all the palaver of disabling servies etc although you DO have to disable "Press and Hold". There is also a couple of registry entries that have to be added to your registry and I'll try and put the file up with this message. Here's the file I wrote at the time I found this solution:

On reinstalling Windows 7 on installing the tablet you are left with a ripple effect when touching the pen to the tablet. To remove this, open Pen and Touch in Control Panel. On the Pen tab, select "Press and Hold" then click Settings. At the top left uncheck "Enable press and hold for right-clicking" and click OK. On the Flicks tab uncheck the checkbox at the top left to disable flicks.
Having done this you now need to add two registry keys to the registry. These are contained in the file W7RippleOff.reg. Double click on this file to run and click through to complete the process. You MUST the either log off and back on again or reboot your PC.

On installing Win7 64-bit on both my own and my husbands PC this worked first time and was completed in a matter of seconds. Further adjustment of pen and touch settings may be required as we found our pens were ultra sensitive. Nevertheless it did get rid of that horrible ripple effect which I assume to be some sort of feedback judging by the keys is in the reg file.
Well I hope this proves to be useful.
