Replacing HDD and scanner can not be installed

Dear Sirs
I have HP ScanJet 3400C, it has no driver for Windows7, I could get it working by the use of “Troubleshoot compatibility” in Windows7.

Now I purchase a new HDD and reinstall Windows7 ultimate (the same version) and updated Windows.

Before removing my old HDD I ran “Windows easy transfer”
After that, I run “Windows easy transfer” from my new HDD

Then I tried to install my HP ScanJet 3400C driver using the same way of “Troubleshoot compatibility”. However it did not work. When I select “Try recommended settings”, I have to Start the program, but it ends up with nothing, I mean the program does not run and the dialogue ends up by “Incompatible application” detected.

I also set properties of (setup.exe) to Windows XP SP2 and SP3, but the program does not run.

Then I tried Windows XP mode” and I could install HP program but it seems I have another problem in XP Mode.

I have my old HDD intact, so I disconnected new HDD and reinstall old HDD to test the scanner and found it working good.

So please advise if there is a way to collect the needed files from old HDD to be installed on new HDD so my scanner would work again?
Many thanks in advance
Best regards

Windows 7 ultimate 64-bit

i would go to hp's site and search for the software and/or drivers under the support section. However, depending on how old the scanner is; you might not be able to get the driver and or software for it in which case you may be able to search for it online.

USB Device Not Recognized when replacing a USB cable for the scanner
We have this fax/copier/scanner in the office that is connected via two "spliced" USB cables (using USB extension cable.) That cable has a tendency of disconnecting when an office lady puts her bag under the desk (because of the splice.) So I decided to buy a single 10ft USB cable. This one:...

Virus scanner installed on USB flash drive
I would like to be able to install malwarebytes to a flash drive so that I can plug it in to an infected PC and run scans. This would be useful in situations where the infected PC has internet connectivity issues or the virus is preventing malwarebytes from being installed. Is this possible?

Hi all, newbie here. I am attempting to install my older XP scanner on my new PC. But i am running into driver issues, which don't seem like normal issues you would encounter moving a peripheral from XP to Win7. This is what i did: First i tried it with the OEM software. After i download the...
Scanner that I cannot get installed in Windows 7
A reminder: Started with XP, added Win7 on new HDD. Mostly things are working out, but I have one remaining hardware problem: a scanner that I can not get installed in Win7. I've seen some reference to running that scanner on XP inside of Windows 7. Is that what I need to do? Is there a...
