Well, Im at my parents place. I installed a new Mobo and processor then added all the other existing hardware.
I went to install the 4 DDR 2 modules and found out that the mobo only accepts 2 slots of DDR 2. The other 2 slots are for DDR 3 momory........first time I ever saw this. So not the system has 4GB RAM with the same graphics card with it's own 512MB or 1GB dedicated RAM. Probably will be more than enough, though I do have 2 4GB DDR 3 modules at home I could add as well.

I started the computer up and all was well..................except the expected..... the motherboard drivers are not installed and thus the system will not boot into windows. Didn't try safe mode, but would expect the same issue.
Seems like I will have to do a clean install. Don't see any way around it. Unless could use a live CD OS to install the mobo drivers from the CD.???

Had to bite the bullet and do the clean install. It's better that way anyways.
Oddly, but somewhat predictably, all usb devices seemed to perform properly, including the USB drivers for the HP 1200 printer.

Thus far I have Windows 7, all hardware drivers, a multitude of user friendly tweaks, most from sevenforums, and a host of software. An Acronis backup was made prior to installation of any software as a "Bare-Bones" system restore point. Once all the software is installed and working, I will make an additional full system backup.

As I had hoped, it appears that the motherboard, causing many USB issues and failing to allow the system to startup.

At present, "all seems quiet on the western front."
