asus also produce a quick q (I think thats its name) which is a little thing you plug all the leads into and then plug it directly onto the mobo. its designed for people who take their mobo out regularly. theyre normally shipped with their higher end mobos.
Best computer part money can buy IMHO, makes installing the case harness a 3 second job! ASUS does sell it as a stand alone part 2-3 bucks.

Problem for the OP is that the case connectors fit on the Quik-Q Block the same way they fit on the motherboard.

You have to customize the power button connector at the motherboard end, I`ve had to do it dozens of times.

The plug you have is a "panel" connector and is something HP did and is not standard. Your new board has the standard 10pin strip as shown by TVeblen. The MB also has USB connectors that look like that but the 5th pen is in the other position so you can't plug it into the wrong thing. Your original board had that matching connector as it was built to HP specs.

That connector is a 9-pin header for power button, reset button, power LED, and HDD LED.
You have to cut it off and rewire using one each of these for the Power, Reset and HDD Led.

    2 pin motherboard connector

The Power Led is a 3 pin with the middle vacant.
