Loud Fan Noise on Sony Vaio EB3
Hello there
I have a 3 year old Sony Vaio EB3 laptop, which recently has begun to make a very loud noise, which I have managed to pinpoint to the fans in the system. After looking around online, I have discovered that there are numerous issues people have had in the past with the Sony Vaio series of laptops to do with the fans making too much noise.
After following advice I had seen on other posts, I decided to take my laptop apart and see if I could fix the fan myself. This is something that is not new to me - I have taken off the bottom of the laptop in the past to clean the fans with compressed air. However, after watching Youtube videos such as this one ( Sony Vaio E series - Disassembly and fan cleaning - YouTube ), I hit a standstill - the part where he takes off the fan, I cannot do. For me, the copper metal which leads out from the fan is stuck too the main board.
My main question is this - is it possible for components in a laptop to melt together? The piece which I have circled in red is the piece I believe to be the problem that is keeping the fan attached to the main board.
If it is possible, is there a solution I can turn to to fix the fan in my laptop? It currently sounds like a lawnmower is being crushed in my laptop.
Thanks in advance!
