Can't turn off double tapping on my Synaptics Touchpad

    Hi,
I'm using a Synaptics Touchpad on my Acer V3-551 and when I follow the steps to turn off double tapping (go to the device settings in mouse and click settings and find tapping and disable) I can't seem to find the tapping option. The only options are Overview and Buttons. I have updated my driver to make sure it is fully up to date. This computer was once windows 8 but is now windows 7. Is there an option I need to turn off in order to see it? (full model is V3-551-8469)
    Thanks!

Check here to see if there is a solution: http://www.synaptics.com/resources/consumer-tips

    or
Launch Synaptics in Control Panel, click on tapping once to select, then click on the gear to the right.

    Maxie offered a good suggestion.

If you want to try finding the option before updating the driver, try the following.

The driver should put a Synaptics entry in Control Panel. CPLs are sorted alphabetically.

Another way to get there is through the Mouse Control Panel.
On my machine, the far right tab is labeled Touchpad Settings and has the Synaptics logo icon
There is a Touchpad Settings below the version information
Clicking on that button takes me to the Settings dialog I mentioned in my previous post.

If the option still isn't there, I think you'll have to install the driver maxie offered.

I installed it before, it's been on my computer this entire time. And Slarty, I have gone there and checked

I looked at the pics; it may not have been installed correctly, I'll check later on. Thanks!
