    CD Wont read


    Hello, my CD rom wonīt read. Already tried tool fix from microsoft and it couldnīt find the solution.

    What is the status of the drive, in the Device Manager? Does it show an error code (e.g. Code 19) or does it show as "working OK"?

    If it shows as working OK, RIGHT click on then entry for the drive and then LEFT click "Uninstall". DO NOT uninstall the driver. Restart the PC and when Windows starts it will detect and reinstall the drive. This fixes many problems.

    Hy Fireberd, thanks for your reply.

    I did what you say, but it didnīt work. on the driver properties, it says its working ok. the only thing new, is that when I restarted my Notebook, I got an error message.

    "hpqwutils.exe - No disc"
    "No disc on the unit. insert a disc on \device\Harddisk1\DR1"

    I have no idea if itīs related to my original problem.
