    Asrock 775I65G Bios Update Problem Error: Rom File Size Incorrect


    Hello I have a Asrock 775I65G Motherboard and it has a Bios version of P1.60 and i have downloaded the 3.30 bios updater from asrock.com(its the windows version)but when i try to run it it gives me an error saying Error: Rom File Size In Correct.I have tried all previous versions and none worked they either said Error: Rom File Size In Correct or Error: File ROM ID incorrect
    what do i do?

    It is not a good idea to update a BIOS using a Windows updater. These work *most* of the time, but fail far more than the DOS versions do.

    Do you have a floppy disk drive in that PC?

    If you still want to use the Windows updater anyway, delete that ROM file and download it again. You could have had a bad download.

    hi thanks for your help i have solved the problem.i had downloaded the bios update for the 775I65G but my mb was a 775I65GV and yes i used the dos updater(there was no windows version)and yes i do have a floppy but it has a bad cable so i used a usb stick with a mutli boter on it with a copy of me dos and the updater and it worked.thanks for all your help

    Glad to hear it.

    Always a good idea to get the correct BIOS! You are lucky the system would not allow you to install the wrong one. You may have been left with a very large doorstop.
