    Antec GX500 fans

I built a computer using the Antec GX500 case. Two of the three fans do not "work".

Could this be because the temperature is not high enough to activate them? Or are they not hooked up right?

If you have the GX500 case which fans do the switches control?

Still no digital manual available on the Antec website. Very irresponsible of Antec.

Did you plug the power cable to the fan controller?

How do you have the fans connected? Without a controller or on off switch that's powered to 12v off the PSU then you're left to plug in all the fans to the mobo fan headers and they only go one way.

Watching the video you either haven't plugged the fan controllers into a molex or you have the controllers in the center off positions. each switch can handle 3 fans.

    ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

What linne said. The case has two manual fan controllers, hi, low and off. You can bypass those and run straight off the mobo for BIOS control if your mobo has that capability.

I dug a little deeper and found a Molex connector hiding between two sheet metal pieces at the right side of the case, where the case wiring resides. I put power to it and now the two fans are controlled by the two fan speed switches.

The right switch controls the rear fan and the left switch controls the rear, top fan. I don't have any optional fans installed at the front of the case.

    Thanks to linnemeyer.

    Hi,
i bought antec gx500 and i was wondering (if you have the same case) - does your top fan cover - "clacks" a little?

When i removed the top fan cover (lock>open) and pressed it back to place - it seems like a small gap is present, and when you press the cover slightly - it clacks a little.
Also, do you hear any fan clackings, rattling on low speed?

Fans have a certain tolerance for play and between that and most cases being light gauge steel which is apt to bend then you can get this slapping sound. I would loosen the mount screws a little and see if that sound goes away. If it does then you can leave it or remove the fan and see how much play is in the fan blades along the mounting shaft and or push the fan grill away with a even pressure being sure not to deform the grill too much.
