Advice for using, swapping & re-loading SSD's
Aloha all,
Some time ago I installed and loaded a 60GB SSD in my custom media editing pc. On it I loaded WIN7, SP1, Adobe Editing Suite Production Premium 6, and misc but necessary programs. I've now run out of space. I purchased a 128GB SSD to replace it. I was intending to do nothing further with the 60GB in this PC as the remaining 4 HDD's are 200GB (data not related to editing), 250GB (editing cache), 500GB (Adobe project storage), & 1TB (captured media storage).
I recently increased my NAS from 4TB to 8TB, so I now have 4-1TB SATA HDD's unused.
My querie with using...I've been considering using the 128 SSD for WIN7, SP1, & all the miscellaneous programs, the 60GB SSD for Adobe PP6, delete the 200 & 250 HDD's, partition the 500GB into 2-150GB sections for WIN7 cache & Adobe cache, & the remaining 200GB for data not related to editing, add another 1TB drive for project storage, and leave captured media storage unchanged.
Any thoughts???
My querie with swapping...Can I use the WIN7 "Backup and Restore" option with "Create a system image" option described in this url How to transfer your OS to your new SSD drive
or is there better directions.
My querie with loading...If I used the above option, how do I separate the Adobe ES program from the WIN7 o/s.
