Change monitor refresh rate using 240hz monitor

    PlayStation® 3D Display with SimulView? Technology | PS3? Accessories -PlayStation®

I have this monitor, but when i connect it to my pc i only get 60hz as the highest option. I figured at least 120hz would be available.

Sony hating Microsoft? Just kidding. Your video card may only support up to 60hz.

It depends on what the graphic card can handle. . .:)

I have always been under the impression it is the monitor's refresh rate. All monitors have a refresh rate. If you were to set a 60Hz monitor to 144 Hz, you would suffer a lot of screen tearing and artifacts. The card would be sending the signal to the monitor faster than the monitor is capable handling. They make monitors with higher refresh rates. If you have one, you would see higher options.
