ASUS MB app config? (CnQ, AI suite, EPU, etc.

MB: ASUS M4A78T-E
BIOS : 3503
AMD: Phenom II X4 955
Patriot DDR3 PC3-12800 2 x 4G
W 7.1 64bit

I'm running latest BIOS, drivers, utilities, etc., from support.asus.com
No OC, no tweaking, no vTurbo.

Can anyone advise re: config of these Asus apps?
(AISuite, EPU, QFan(s), etc.,)
They seem to step no one another. I have constantly low fan speeds & sometimes temps exceed °60 C - when my daughter is only playing flash games....

Before I ask app specific questions,
answers to which no doubt will lead to more questions,
I'd prefer to know if there's any comprehensive configuration resource/info/details?

e.g. - CnQ:
enabled in the BIOS
MB manual says refer to software manual
(for detailed software configuration)
The CnQ manual has same info as MB manual
(with XP & Vista specific enable & Launch info)
No configuration info...

Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

There are a couple of things that you can do:

1. Don't bother with AI Suite, it's just a memory and performance drain.

2. With Q-Fan, you want to make sure that it's turned off for your CPU fan, the rest of the fans can be set to quiet, or whatever your preference is depending on your noise level.

3. Cool and Quiet can be your friend, or not. If you like high performance, turn it off. If you're not so much into high performance, then by all means turn it on. It will help your CPU run cooler. Note that with an AMD system, you might have to install the motherboard's CnQ driver.

4. I've never used EPU as I prefer my PC to run in high performance mode. As I understand EPU, it's a performance throttle meant to balance energy consumption on your PC. Again, if you want performance from your computer, don't use it.

billiamian, I don't know a lot about AMD chips, but I do know about AI Suite. It is a drag on resources, but some people, like me, find a few of the parts useful. However, ignore the constant warnings if you use it. The warnings are wrong. It is a common problem with AI Suite. Also, welcome to Seven Forums.
