Would it be that the cell battery needs replacing? I replace the AC adapter a few months ago.

It should operate without the battery as long as the AC is attached.

Do the LEDs near the power input, or keyboard (Caps, NumLock etc) light at all? Do you hear fans power up?

With or without the AC adapter, the netbook powers on and only the power button LED turns on. With the AC adapter log in to the wall outlet, the battery LED also turns on. I still don't hear a for nor do any of the other LEDs turn on.

It works now, but I want to know the cause of the problem. Windows started with the repair Windows screen.

Run a full virus scan for starters. Then run diagnostics on your hard drive in case this is an early warning. Take the opportunity to backup...

Check whether there is not a button on the keyboard that turned it inadvertently off.
