I need a laptop battery for a toshiba satellite. Does it matter what model it is?

Im looking for a 7400mah one? And the voltage should be 10.8v

But do I need to tell you the laptop model?

Yes you should for full compatibility especially if the prices are different depending on the models.

It is best to buy from the OEM. Toshiba Direct | Laptop Accessories & Parts | Tablet Accessories | Toshiba TV Parts Generic batteries may have problems and may even burn, leak, or even explode.

Have you tried deep cycle and reconditioning it? Many laptops have this feature in the bios or start up menu, it takes a good while but it resets both the battery and the discharge meter.

Please tell us the model of the laptop. Since it is a Toshiba laptop, the model is on the bottom.
