    Kingston SSDNow V300 120G f/w update


    Hi All
    New to all this SSD stuff. Can anyone tell me if I can update the f/w on my drive from Windows whilst that drive is running the OS?

    Kingston uses a 'Field Updater', check their site... :)

    I have downloaded the appropriate tool and update from the site by putting in the model number which led to me to a package with "Tool box". Field updater appears to be for part no.s beginning SH whereas mine is SV ie SV300S37A120G.

    I should have given the part no. in original post.

    Any attempt to carry out the update has been met with total system freeze.

    Ok thanks but as I said above I have already downloaded Toolbox from that site and read the instructions however it won't run. Fortunately I think I've now worked out why.
