    Can't play dvd's and burn cd's

I'm having a problem and my laptop (Toshiba satellite L655, windows 7 ) wont read any thing, I get the following error when I try to play a dvd, I checked the region and its correct
Windows Media Player cannot play this DVD because there is a problem with digital copy protection between your DVD drive, decoder, and video card. Try installing an updated driver for your video card.

I'm also running teamviewer if someone can help me out. thanks.

Joey mate may seem a bit simplistic but have you tried running a cleaner through the drive?
    I would then check these

    https://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/433-disk-check.html

Now the driver is in here Satellite L655-S5150 Support | Toshiba I don't use the Windows feature mate because it is fairly sloppy and I find the manufactures sites are better.

To find the right graphics on the machine run this HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download > download the right bit version mate.
In my pic I have a GPU but yours will show up as the integrated graphics. You will find a lot of Toshiba crap in the drivers and having two myself they are rubbish as I have now just got Windows 7 on without the bloatware.

If you need to go to a specific Toshiba site then you will be asked for a Part No and it will be on the bottom of the machine as in my other pic :) That is because it denotes where the machine was made and intended for distribution to.

Well the SFC stopping is odd try again in safe mode and I would at thisstage back up all your data - just in case.
The video "cards" Joey mate are integrated which means they are soldered to the motherboard and in reality cannot be replaced unless you are highly skilled at doing that and then I think for the money that someone would charge you it would be cheaper to buy another machine see pic GPU refers to what you cal the video card - this is not your machine but gives you an idea of what I am saying.

The codecs on the disk an how your machine can read them so you may have top just update the driver and hope it works.

in HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 can I just click at the top to update all drivers?
what driver do I need to update?
what's the easiest way to do so?

sfc stopped at 10% again, in safe mode

Try using VLC player. See if it makes a difference. It includes all codecs (unlike Media Player)
