Eventid 24620 error 0x80000010 at boot failing to read W8 partition

I have W7 Pro 64bit in a dual boot with W8.1 Pro 64 bit on a Dell Inspiron laptop. I purchased and installed a Crucial SSD and used Acronis True Image 2014 to backup and restore to the new SSD.

All the backup and restore went without an error. Each system boots and is functional. When W7 is booted an error is logged in the system event log indicating eventid 24620 with error code 0x80000010 failing to read drive D:, which is the W8 partition.

I have never used Bitlocker for any drive. This is true for W7 and W8. W7 is able to view and do things with the W8 partition but the error still happens. It only happens once during boot.

This type of situation never happened when on the Seagate real hard drive.

Anybody got any ideas?

I have solved the problem. I had contacted Crucial Memory, Acronis and this site about this issue.

Neither Crucial, Acronis or others had ever seen this behavior.

I have been trying to keep W7 from deleting W8 restore points since I got it. I had tried a whole bunch of things I found in Google hits but nothing really worked. I decided to put the registry update for XP into the W7 registry to put the W8 Drive offline at boot. The drive never showed up as offline but the restore points for W8 did not get deleted!

When I did the Acronis backup/restore to the new SSD low and behold the W8 drive now showed up off line and that is when the Bitlocker code in W7 started getting the error. Both W7 and W8 work as they should and even though explorer is aware of drive D: it is offline and my restore points for W8 don't get deleted.

In short it was not a Crucial SSD error or an Acronis error. I blame Microsoft for not providing a better solution to keep the older system from deleting the newer ones restore points and also for not explaining that even though W7 does not support encrypting hard drives it does have a service active that has to support external usb things and so on.
