The Instr. at 0xfb76584 referred mem. @ e0x00000008 could not be read

Hi Everyone,

Yes, I am back with a very confusing problem that as usual I brought upon myself. I attempted to reformat my old 500 GB HDD that had my old "complete" OS Win 7 Pro and all programs etc. via a USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE bridge. Big Mistake! "Note - I have done this many times in the past w/o any problems at all".

As soon as I plugged it in things started running then there it was TBSD! I am now stuck with a non-bootable 2TB HDD loaded with all of my info.

Start Up Repair at 0xfbe2584d referenced memory 0x00000008 - The memory couldn't be read.

Now I have a feeling I did something else wrong before all of this happened. When I formatted this disk for some reason it would NOT let me create the drive with the normal System, C:OS, D:Recovery. For some reason it would not let me keep all of the remaining memory in the C: partition. I had to make an extra partition with X amount of memory. Well like a genius I lettered that partition "X" and I have a feeling that is what is causing me all of this distress.

Luckily I didn't Reformat the drive as I was going to as that is what I am using now:)

I wasn't panicked because a do a Macrium Reflect Image BU daily, yes daily. I also back up all folders to another EHDD daily. The problem came when I installed my Macrium Reflect Boot Disk (Win PE) instead of the BU Wizard coming up as it should have I got a cmd window with X:\Administator..... Sorry I didn't write it down which then dropped down to X:\windows\system32\. End of progress, I trying typing in C:\ with the WC\32, what is on the top bar, and anything I could think of. I also tried using E:\ (my DVD-CD drive) with run, exe. and so on with nothing.

Now I am either brave or stupid call it as you will but I plugged the 2TB HDD in via the USB bridge and tried to open it via MiniPartion to change the X label but MiniPartition does not recognize it. I do see it in Device Manager but I can not Activate it. So there is where I am so far, any help?

Well, folks I see many looked at this and didn't have a suggestion. So after several days of trying various options to figure this out; I am not one to be beat "too often" by this machine. I found using a Partition editing program (sorry I forget which of the many I tried it was). This software was the only one that would recognize the hdd at all. What it said was Bad Disk!

I went to the local Wally World and bought a new 2TB external drive to replace the bad drive. So I went in and took the hdd out of the case (it is much cheaper to purchase a hdd this way) and temporarily hooked it up and got ready to install my Backup Imagine from Macrium Reflect. I put my MR boot disk and what to my horror did I see? Yep, right past the MF Wizard and to the cmd prompt again! Now I sit back and say, huh that wasn't supposed to happen .

I just sat there staring at the screen in amazement for a few minutes and the light bulb went off. WHAT IF? I grabbed another CD and to my Laptop and burned another MR Win PE boot disk. Switched them out and booted up the machine BOOM there was my MR Wizard. I picked the Image I made much earlier in the day the problem happened. I hour and 20 minutes later it was done success at last! Nope, not yet the machine booted just the way the "bad" disk booted, you have got to be kidding me! So reformat the disk run MF Wizard again but from the day be fore’s imagine 1hr + later success. Yes, I was back up and going!

So I get to thinking "what if?" I plug the "bad" hdd in with the newly made boot disk BOOM again there it is the MF Wizard . All that trouble caused by an oops then a bad boot disk. So I proceed to do another image/clone back on the original "bad" disk. You see I used the hdd I had cloned the 2TB from back in July (2013) to get back up and running (for the most part) right after the crash and burn. Just lucky I had it put in a safe place where this hdd will now go.

Last bit of information I bought the two year Wally World warranty on the external drive for nine bucks. I very carefully re-boxed the enclosure dated it and put it away. Just in case I have a real "bad' hdd catastrophe I will be covered for two years.
