DVD RW drive unable to detect disks.

    Hi,
Recently my DELL inspiron N5010 DVD RW is not detecting any audio or data disks(CD or DVD). I checked its drive in 'device manager' it's working fine. Can it be hardware problem? Plz help for my problem.... thanking you...

Yes it can be a hardware problem. It may just need to be cleaned (with a cleaning disk), but it is very common for optical drives to fail. If it's a tray style drive, they are easily replaced, search amazon or eBay for a new one. If it is a slot loading drive, they are much harder to replace, but it can be done.

It depends on the computer and BIOS setting. Most newer BIOS has a option to enable USB on bootup. You could ask at the Lenovo forum or check the Lenovo support pages.
