    Erratic Keyboard/mouse

I am having the same problem on 2 hp dv7 laptops. One is dv7-4269wm the other isdv7-4272us. If a window has a scroll bar it automatically scrolls to the top or tab around the window. I've read other people having similar issues however there is no solution. Also it seems the mouse will freeze in spot and I have to hit the tab button to get it to move again. All drivers and all programs, including the Windows 7 OS (32-bit) are up to date on both machines.
Can somebody please help. This has basically left the machines unusable because regardless of what you want to do the machines do their own thing.
Also the system says the touchpad mouse, which is what I'm using and the keyboard drivers are working properly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled both drivers. When a wireless mouse is used the same things happen, and I was using just the wireless mouse while there was no touchpad driver installed.
Is it a keyboard problem? Are there alternative drivers to synaptics? I've ran troubleshooting tools within Windows and everything reports okay.
