netgear wg111t not working with W7

    Hi

built myself a new comp and havin driver issues for my wireless adapter

currently have my router connected to my computer via ethernet. tried to set it up wirelessly with the same netgear adapter i was using with xp on my old comp, but i just cant seem to get it to pick it up

ive tried installing several drivers but in device manager it still has the exclamation triangle next to it, so i try to search for drivers both on the internet and on my computer but nothing works.

and the adapter is fine because ive tried it in my girlfriends comp and works perfectly

    thanks

    Matt

    Welcome to SevenForums twister
Have you tried this driver version? Works on mine. Run the compatibility tutorial on the exe file before installing might help. Good luck to you!

thanks for your response, i havnt got that version, but i shall try and find it and give that a go.

when using the compatability run, i was previously using xp sp2 so i would just select that and apply yeah?

tried installing that driver, gets to the end and i get this error message

    error number: 0x80040703
description: failed to find dll function: sfc.SRSetRestorePoint

    setup will now terminate

then tried the compatibility and set it to xp sp2 and run as administrator, installed again and its now has nvidia network controller in device manager but doesnt show my wg111t adapter, and still have no blue light on the adapter itself, hmmmm

Twister, We do have differnt adapters. I did not know that. wg111 and wg111t. I looked on the web and the 2.1 driver is avalible and it is vista approved so try that in comp. mode if you have not yet. Sometimes its just a matter of installing in the right order. uninstall the bad then the new and then the device. Link in case you have not seen this but I am guessing that you have.

tried it all again and still get this message on setup

    error number: 0x80040703
description: failed to find dll function: sfc.SRSetRestorePoint

    setup will now terminate

tried doing it through device maanger again and says cant find any drivers, please check the manufacturers website, which i have and makes no difference.

tried the compatability with xp sp2 and 3, and all the vista ones but still gettin the exclamation in device manager

the netgear wizard comes on my desktop, but when i open it, it closes itself again before i even get chance to look at it

    not going very well,lol

found another solution to try, but i need the wg111tvx.inf file from the driver folder in the 2.1 setup, but i cant seem to find it in mine, so if you no where i could get hold ogf that then i could give this other solution a try

if not think im gonna have to buy a new wireless adapter
