    Query re mobo SATA speed

I have a 4 year old Toshiba L550 that is running fine but after a lot of Googles I cannot find at what SATA speed the SSD is being driven at. From my pic I am guessing it is only 3GBs??

It looks like you have a 6Gb/s controller on the SSD running at 3Gb/s John, so it does look like your motherboard only supports SATA 3Gb/s. Have you checked the specs of the motherboard?

Thanks to you both and yes as the machine originally came with a Toshiba spinner an is that old - I am sure before SATA 3 was not in general production stuff.

The specs for the machine / mobo is what I could not get clarified so my query. The Toshiba site was as always pretty pathetic.

No I suppose I could dig down into the chipset stuff but really I think the answer is in the age of the machine.

Oh well mate just the same the machine is 100% faster than what it used to be with the old spinner and less RAM. Mind you the optimize tutorial is juts the ducks guts when it comes to tidying up the clutter stuff:)

By the by I like the Avatar and siggy - best show they ever did so far eh?

Oh yeah BB is right at the top of my favourite TV shows along with The Shield. I'll be watching both again soon, can't get enough of them!

A bit OT but who is counting - "Game of Thrones" is on my top lot as is "The Borgias" and "Rome". They make for good night duty viewing when there is a lull in the fighting LOL!!

Oh and nearly forgot a very good and different one is "House of Cards" and "Sparticus" if you can stand the near explicit parts - it gets a bit over the top for my liking.
