    Duplex Printing Issue: W7 Pro 64-bit - Ricoh SP 4310N w/Duplex Option

If this needs to be relocated by all means move it.

My wife just purchased a Ricoh SP 4310N B&W laser printer and the duplex attachment (on the back of the printer) for automatic 2-sided printing. However, we have not been able to make the printer operate in duplex mode. Note this is a full PS3 printer (this is why my wife purchased it - not mere PS emulation). We have the PS driver set as the default printer on her pc.

Here is what we have done:

1 - Configure printer in "Menu" for duplex mode printing. This is accomplished with the printer keypad.

2 - Examined the printer configuration in Windows and we cannot change the software control corresponding to duplex printing (I think it is actually called "2-sided printing" or maybe just "2-sided."). We reviewed the SP 4310N manual and it suggests removing the duplex accessory, re-seat it and power the printer and pc back up.

This is where we are. We have not powered up the SP 4310N or the pc. We thought to try forum assistance before continuing.

Also note, we are unable to make progress with 2-sided (i.e., duplex) printing whether we we are in Microsoft Office or Survey Tracker (the software my wife needs to use for printing surveys for tomorrow).

10:51 PM: The SP 4310N is currently printing my wife's survey's as required. We suspect the cold boot of the pc explains this success because, she power cycled the SP 4310N previously and did not obtain these positive results. However, this time we cold booted both the pc and the SP 4310N.

We appreciate any help you can offer this evening...she needs to print 1000 surveys before morning.

Rick go here and download the driver update you need to agree and that takes you to the download page and make sure you pick the right Windows version driver.
Let us know how you go.
