    Razer Diamondback keeps freezing

My mouse cursor has started freezing on screen for a few seconds at a time. Then Windows will make the "ding dong" disconnection sound, and the mouse will start working again, though sometimes it takes a few ding dong sounds.

You would think maybe it's a faulty wire, but the lights in the mouse stay on the whole time. And I tried cleaning the lens with rubbing alcohol, but to no difference.

Also it seems to happen more often when the comp is doing something intensive.

Try another mouse you know is good to see if the issue is still there. If it is, work through these steps.

It could be a defective Diamondback too.

I would suspect the Razer then, do you still have warranty on it?
