    Canon Pixma MG3150 connection Issues!!!

Canon Pixma MG3150 connection Issues!!! I have uninstalled and reinstalled my printer 7 times now. When I reinstall it, it works fine then today for example it doesn't says it's offline. It's the same issue each time! I am using wireless and I haven't a clue how to fix this issue. All advice welcome. Thank you in advance.

Hollyoaks try two things one is install this driver http://www.canon-europe.com/Support/Consumer_Products/products/Fax__Multifunctionals/InkJet/PIXMA_MG_series/PIXMA_MG3150.aspx

I am assuming you have used the Windows feature which I am not a great fan of and also try a cable hook up.

Some system specs would be handy too so that we can see what hardware you have in the machine especially what wifi adaptors you have

I only got it to work by doing a full system image recovery. Then my modem was cutting me off every couple of minutes. So I got a new one from virgin. And it happened again I uninstalled everything to do with the printer. Reinstated it would not work same problem so I done a full system image recovery again and it worked. I am bamboozled as to what I am doing wrong. It's a Dell inspiron 1545 and windows 7 professional. Mate.

Actually Hollyoak I have an idea that the wifi connection is between the computer and the printer and doesn't need a modem but I stand to be corrected.

I actually had this particular model printer and I swapped it fro another brand because I found it rather heavy on inks, slow and noisy. But the choice is yours I suppose.

Thanks mate but just keeping it. I used to have an Epson and this does far more and uses less ink. It's amazing how the printers cost the same or less than the ink. I think they take a liberty on us with the ink. If you know somewhere that does genuine ink 540XL and 541XL cartridges cheap please give me a link.

Router connection issue. I setup my PIXMA with a fixed IP address on my LAN, it serves 6 different computers. It's been very trouble free using a fixed IP, before I did that I had to reset the router on occasions so it could find the PIXMA.

Ok mate well we will keep on trying that was a good tip from madcrater but if it still isn't getting through I am beginning to wonder why??

If you want something else though I can thoroughly recommend the HP Officejet Pro 8600 it is really great on inks and quiet as. The inks I get from a specialist in after markets replacements so I don't know of any where you may be . I pay about half the usual retail so am in clover.
I reckon if you do a Google for inks there would bound to be a store somewhere near you to get aftermarket stuff. I will agree get a cheap printer and pay through the nose for inks and vice versa which to me doesn't make sense paying more for inks than the machine..

Oops sorry hollyoaks mate the I am in clover is just an expression meaning I have it easy street

I have had a look at inks in your part of the world and I see that there are European laws in place now that is banning aftermarket inks and the use of clever chips in the cartridges. Now I remember when one could fill the tanks by hand and the use of chips in the cartridges was really the beginning of the end for us the consumer.

Another option would be to go on EBay and look out what you want because I did a search in the UK site and found that even with shipping from the US the price of the cartridges was cheaper than if I bought them out here.

All in all the whole computer business/s is becoming a monopolization process and I don't like it one bit and holds us to ransom. Anyway have a look at the EBay stuff mate or any other sites that sell this stuff.
Sorry I couldn't be of much more help
