How to rename my USB flash Drive

    Cursing and throwing usually helps me.

    Do you have another flash drive to see if you can rename it?

    I tried with another flash drive and it renames fine with properties... So it has something to do with how me and the OP have our USB setup.

    I would say to reformat like you suggested but he already tried that.

    It could be SanDisk's fault too. After Win 8 came out their new flash drives showed up as a fixed drive in Explorer. They have since corrected that. Their claim was to certify them for Win 8, they were wrong.
