Thanks for adding in about possibly needing to take both sides off. With my case you can get at the opticals with one side off, but working on SSD or HDDs requires removing both sides.

Sometimes I think helping someone tear into their computer for the first time might be the wrong thing to do. I remember years ago after I'd removed a CD player only, and installed a burner. Hmm, that's easy...what else can I do? Oh yeah, spend more money.

Well I beg to differ WW mate tearing into is not the way I would describe it. I simply explained the different ways of removing a drive beit optical or hard drive.

Your description implies that one just rips the sides off when you would know it is usually undoing four small screws and sliding the sides backwards to remove them and in my main desktop a latch that is undone and the side drops down and off after disconnecting the side fans cables it exposes the fixations of the other internal parts.

I did make reference too about the tool less fixers and I think there is little left to say.

Now I think I had better leave this thread at this point because I feel anything I advise is not going to be right.

Sorry Binker Nate and I wish that all goes well.

ICit2lol, the second paragraph in my last post was only a joke, hence the wink icon. I was referring to that once you start upgrading it may lead one to also build custom computers, and so it goes, adding up over the years to a lot of money; at least for many that is how it goes. Not that the building can't be fun though.

I have a bit of a dry sense of humour so the joke bombed.

Yes well I also have a very warped sense of humour but it came across as not that jovial. In any case I shall leave the thread to you as I have a few fixes at home and other threads that need sorting. This is not me being pedantic and I think you can handle this one.
